During March, at the Fine Arts Museum, Antipa Street No. 2, the public may watch the work of Stavru Tarasov, Landscape in the Delta, belonging to the collection of modern and contemporary paintings.
The Romanian painter Stavru Tarasov was born in 1883 in Letea in the Danube Delta and died in 1961 in Brasov. Between 1903 and 1905 he studied at the Fine Arts School in Iasi, while being a student at the Conservatory of Music in the same city. Between 1906 and 1909 continued his studies at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. Until 1910 he completed his studies in various museums and private workshops. He was the sudent of Herman Richir and then Constant Montaldi, at the Academie des Beaux Arts in Brussels, where he studied between October 1911 and January 1913.
His work is fruitful and appreciated, including works subject to personal or group exhibitions organized in Romania and abroad.
Works of the artist appear in art museums in Constanta, Tulcea, Barlad, Brasov and in numerous private collections from Brussels, Constanta, Iasi, Tecuci, Barlad, Tulcea, Brasov.
