Starting with 11th of November 2015, at the Museum of History and archaeology, Independence Monument Park, the public may visit the exhibition named Smiles from —the Golden Age. Actual cultural reinterpretation of the communist epoch

Organisers: Museum of National History and Archaeology Constanța, «Gavrilă Simion» Eco-Museum Research Institute Tulcea and European Association INTERAXE.

Financer: National Cultural Fund Administration

What do organizers say:

”The project addresses the youth, especially these who are taught about communism in school. The formal history lessons cannot provide a comprehensible view of daily life in communism. Moreover, usually, this subject is a predilect one for elders and not for youth. Younger people never lived in those circumstances and know almost nothing about them. Sometimes they learn about it from elders talks, but these are just subjective glimpses of the whole picture.

The project team aimed to create an atmosphere closer to that belonging of the communist epoch through the display of original documents and items.”
