The collection contains 1703 pieces. It is composed from the following collections:

–       collection of naturalized pieces – 600 pieces collected from the Romanian territory, especially from the Danube Delta and Dobrudja, in the period 1959 – 2004;

–       collection of  skins – 780 pieces collected from the Danube Delta and Dobrudja territories, in the period 1947-1955;

–       egg collection – 323 clutches of Romanian ornithological fauna (Danube Delta, Dobrudja) and also from Africa and Australia.
